Privacy policy

KinPace is an Android app for tracking medication doses, made by Lorence ("I", "me"). This policy covers the app and this website, kinpace.mangoview.com. It says plainly what is stored, where it lives, and when anything leaves your phone.

The short version

  • Your records stay on your phone. Medications, doses, notes and settings are stored on your device and nowhere else.
  • No account, no ads, no tracking, no analytics. I don't run servers for the app, so I can't see what you enter.
  • The current version of the app doesn't connect to the internet.
  • You decide when anything is shared. A report or export only leaves the app when you choose to send it.
  • Because I hold no copy, I can't recover your data. If you lose or reset your phone, only your own exports and backups can bring it back.

What the app stores on your phone

Everything below is created by you and saved in the app's private storage on your device:

  • The medications you add: name, minimum interval, maximum doses per 24 hours, and the color and shape you pick.
  • Your doses: the time each was taken, any note you add, and labels the app works out, such as "Out of plan order" or "Marked as not needed".
  • Your plan: which medications are in it and the order you take them in.
  • Your preferences: theme, text size, which Insights charts you've hidden, and your last PDF export choices.

Dose records are health-related, so please treat your phone accordingly. Use a screen lock. The app relies on Android's own protections for its storage and doesn't add a separate password or encryption of its own.

What I collect

Nothing. The app has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting of its own, no advertising and no third-party tracking code. I don't have your name, email, location, device identifiers or any of your records.

When your data leaves your phone

Only in these cases, each of which you control:

  • Exporting or sharing. When you export a CSV or build a PDF report, the app hands the file to Android's share sheet. You choose where it goes, such as email, messages, cloud storage or print. From that point the app you chose and its own privacy policy apply, not mine.
  • Importing. When you import a CSV, the app reads only the one file you pick. It doesn't browse your other files.
  • Website links. The app has two links to this website (on the first screen and in Settings > Help). Tapping one hands the address to your phone's browser, which then contacts this site. The app itself sends nothing, and it doesn't pass any of your records along.
  • Android device backup. If you have Android's backup turned on, Android may include the app's data in your backup to your Google account. That is controlled by your phone's settings and Google's policies, not by KinPace. You can turn it off in your phone's backup settings.
  • Google Play. When the app is available on Google Play, Google handles downloads under its own terms. Google may show me aggregate statistics such as install counts and, if you've opted in on your device, anonymous crash reports. I don't receive information that identifies you.

The app doesn't ask for access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos.

This website

  • The site has no accounts, no forms, no cookies that I set, and no analytics or advertising tools.
  • The site's fonts are served from the site itself, so your browser doesn't contact Google or any other third party to load them.
  • My web host may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, time and the page requested, for security and to keep the site running.
  • If you email me, I keep your message and address so I can reply, and delete them when they're no longer needed.

Keeping or deleting your data

  • To delete records inside the app, use Settings > Data > Reset app. You can reset just your doses, your medications and doses, or everything.
  • Uninstalling the app removes its data from your phone.
  • Exports and reports you've already shared are copies you hold, so delete those where you saved or sent them.
  • To keep a copy before a reset or a new phone, export your dose history first.

Children

KinPace is meant for adults, including a parent or carer keeping track of a child's doses. I don't knowingly collect anything from children. In fact I don't collect anything from anyone.

Not medical advice

KinPace follows the intervals and limits you enter. It doesn't know what's right for you and isn't medical advice. Check your settings against your doctor's advice or the medication's packet or label, and always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's guidance.

Changes to this policy

If the app or site changes in a way that affects your privacy, for example if a future version needs the internet, I'll update this page and the date at the top before that version is released.
